    Hey all,

So here i am today with another question.

Title possibly says it all, do you think its going to be possible somewhere along the line, with any kind of homebrew or backup manageror even custom firmware update, for the PS3 that will allow us to play/store PS2 games on a HD later on in the future?

or is there already a such thing created or being worked on already?

    Thanks,
    Jamiez

I have the same question as the OP, but swap out PS2 for PS1. I want to store and play my PS1 games. And somehow make it so you don't need to do that annoying disc switching.

Not everyone is your son. Or you for that matter. I'd love to play Capcom vs SNK 2 or Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Final Fantasy X and so on. The list goes on pretty far.

Yea, you must be that type of guy who always buy the last iphone just because there's a new model on the market. Don't generalize specially when your kid is 8 and you both might be americans.

I played yesterday Fifa 98 and GTA 1 on my psx and it still felt awesome after 13 years!

Not all of us are rich enough to afford a second console, or simply don't want to have to live with 2 consoles in our homes.

PS emulation is definately possible (The PS2 and PSP can emulate a PS), and PS2 emulation should probably be achievable... but it all boils down to whether a legit PS3 SDK is developed, and whether the running of homebrew on the PS3 can still exist in the future.

Hey, thanks for all the comments, people who keep saying "buy a ps2" or "we don't like ps2", there are an abundant of ps2 games I still want to play and so do others, the thing I am worried about is my Ps2 will die on me soon, very old system, so I was wandering that it would be cool if somehow you can back up ISO's or something on the HD and play them on the ps3.

But yeah, this is all about the home brew community, to release things like this even if the group of people is small, e.g. the SNES and Sega emulators. It's all about getting as much as you can out of the system.

Go onto craiglist, kijiji, ebay, etc.. and search for an original 60, 80, or 20 gb PS3 Phat. The 60 and 20 are fully backwards compatible, while the 80 is mostly. It uses software emulation

Dont know about the PS3 models in your country but in the UK only the 60gb had ps3 support.

Iv got 60gb but i want a way to run ps2 games still so i can mod games.
