I was just wondering if anybody knew of a program like "one" that will run on custom firmware that enables you to play burnt ps2 games? First off I know you will need a ps3 that is backwards compatible with ps2 games and yes I have already done the swap trick with the top off but I figured it would be easier to download some app to bypass the whole swap motion.

At the moment, there is no program that can let you play PS2 backups. Unless you buy that true blue dongle. I believe that lets you play PS2 backups.

I know it's not quite the answer you're looking for, but that works great with my Cobra USB. You need to buy the device ($43+shipping) and install their CFW, but you can play ps2 disk backups straight away from the XMB and PS2 ISOs using their manager software. Not to mention the same for PS1 (backup and iso) and PSP. Note that some PSP games don't work well (the support leverages the built-in PSP emulator and those which haven't been released on PSN don't necessarily work great). It's not free, yet to me it's been worth the money; being able to play nearly all of my PS1, PS2, PS3 backups (and some PSP) on one box is awesome.

The True Blue dongle does not let you play ps2 games, right now only the Cobra dongle lets you play ps2 games it also has many other features, I just got one the other day and definitely recommend it.

I'll throw in my endorsement of the Cobra dongle as well. It works great for PS2 games. The only caveat is that you need store the ISOs on the internal hard drive as opposed to an external.

Yeah, I should correct myself. It's not the true blue dongle that has PS2 backup support. It's the Cobra dongle.
