Ps2 Classics Game save problem
Ps2 Classics Game save problem –
I had installed the original placeholder and had it all installed correctly. Final Fantasy X was working sweet and put in over 20hours on it. Now comes the new classics manager and new placeholder. I ftp'd in and made a backup of the the 2 VME files to my pc and then proceeded to delete the original placeholder as described. Installed the new placeholder and then used reactpsn. all went well installed new manager and then made a folder called finalfantasyX inside the ps2iso folder. it put the Iso of the game inside that named correctly and the SAVEDATA folder and then ftp my backup saves there.
I started up the new backup manager worked a treat, found the game. started it and when i clicked on load save in the game, NO SAVES FOUND!
So i decided to delete everything and then go back to the first placeholder etc. and then the save still doesnt work???
Any help would be great
Thanks in advance
I'm talking out of my butt here since I have not used PS2 backups, but this is how I would troubleshoot.
Try running the game, creating a new save and seeing where it saves. You might have the FOLDER or file named incorrectly (For the new manager version).
After ps3 restart, all savegames are gone oO
Went through the same thing. The memory cards are not the .VME files in the PS2ISO like you would think. It gets moved over or mounted elsewhere and those cards are always blank.
Before upgrading you will need to save these cards via the XMB -> Save Data Tool (PS2). This will export them to a FAT32 drive where you can then re-import them when you upgrade and keep all your saves.
I believe though the Classics Manager may back these up by creating a new folder called something along-the-lines of "PS2EMUBK" or something similar (cannot remember) which you can look for in multiman's file manager. Try to see if you find the backed up .VME's in there.
