I did a search for this, no results came up which I'm assuming is due to a >3 character requirement for searches - I know there are some PS2 related threads here that don't quite address my question. Anyway

Is it possible to run backup PS2 games on 20GB or 60GB launch SKUs with both EE & GS hardware? (or on the Motorstorm & MGS4 80GB bundles for that matter).

I'm considering getting a 20GB (price is good) and replacing my PS2, but I'm not quite ready to give up on undubs, and going out of my way to buy an old PS2BC PS3 while having to keep my PS2 anyway would be a bit redundant.

    I'd recommend a 60GB or a 80Gb with BC . 20GB does't even have wi-fi and has a greater risk of YLOD .
You can play PS2 backups from HDD / LAN with a Swap Magic disc and Open PS2 Loader . Not 100 % compatibility but it's improving .

How is it that the 20GB has a higher risk of YLOD than the 60GB?

WiFi wasn't a huge concern for me, my setup has all my game systems a couple feet away from the router, so ethernet does the trick and has better performance than WiFi anyway with being in an appartment building with easily 20 different WiFi signals in range.

Swap magic sounds like a workable solution, I've seen no mention of this though, can you recommend can you point to a thread where it's talked about?

    Thanks
