PS 3 ofw 3.72

Hi to all of you out there.
I am a newbe to the PS 3 scene and maybe a little dim when it comes to all things to do with jailbreaking. I bought my son a PS 3 for Christmas and was wondering if it could be jailbroken as he is not happy with only three games that he also got as presents!!!!
We have a WII which I bought chipped so am able to play back up games from his freinds. Is it possible to do this on the PS 3 ? There is a wealth of info on the net in regards to jailbreaking but I have not found a definetive answer. I have jailbroken both mine and my sons iphones with no problem and the info I found on the web was very clear as to what you can and can't do. I can't believe Apple don't mind having their product manipulated any more than Sony.
The firmware he has is the one that came with the console 3.72 I have banned him from connecting to the internet so as to avoid updates until I know what the situation is.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment there isnt any 3.72 jailbreak or downgrade..at the least you can update your ps3 to 4.00 so you can enjoy online gaming and psn..

Not interested in pirates but as he has already burnt out 2 ps2s and I can't remember how many game discs scratched etc I was hoping for a more helpful answer to being able to play back ups so maybe I will try elsewhere. Thanks any way.
