I'm just wanting to tell you guys to protect your ps3s from being accidentally updated. Don't let anybody touch it at all when you're not around. I feel like my ps3 is a completely useless p.o.s. now. Yeah..my ps3 got updated accidentally by my little cousin (or maybe sony somehow forced it..but I highly doubt it). I came home one day and the she was playing it..I thought nothing of it. Now today that I was gonna install linux on it I noticed I couldn't install a 3.55 ofw package. So I went to check my firmware version..it said 3.66. I absolutely lost it. All my emulators and backed up games are now gone. No possibility to install linux. I was forced to update to 3.70 since a stock 3.66 without PSN is completely useless. So yeah my ps3 is just a normal ps3 now and I hate it. This is the reason I dont let anybody touch my stuff at all. Slip up once and this is what happens.
I hope this doesn't happen to anyone here!! Take care of your ps3s!

08-22-2011,07:44 PMI didn't a spoofer because I'm the only one that uses it. Nor did I need to disconnect it all the time as I stream media to it. Kids these days touch things wayyy to much.

08-22-2011,08:08 PMsomeone updated my ps3 the other day and the weird thing is the latest firmware is 3.70 but my ps3 was only updated to 3.60 its bit weird since nobody goes near my ps3 in my house could sony be the one who did

08-22-2011,08:34 PMdoes the disc you have in the PS3 happen to have OFW 3.60 on it (if they played the game straight from there it would have asked to upate and use the FW file from the disc to do it)

08-22-2011,09:20 PMno it was very old game only other thing was i changed internet provider from eircom to upc just have to hope downgrade for 3.60 as a softmod get released
