proper ps3 network settings for game updates..?

Whats the proper network settings to have set on your jailbreak ps3 if you just want to be able to get game patches/updates & use the internet browser but nothing else like psn/fw updates ect..??

all i do to get updates is goto network then i chose wired then easy, get updates then go back to network choose custom make it all default apart from dns which i choose 1.0.1.0 for both entrys then ps3 blocked from the net again again works for me.

only default settings will get updates i would have thought

everytime i download updates, it gives me some error when it hits 100% and tried to install

Maybe because you use a payload which is not compatible with games updates.
