Problem downgrading... keeps telling me to connect the controller.

I'm using the E3 Flasher and PS3 fat on 4.11 OFW.


I've dumped my NOR and verified it. Everything looks fine.

I've then copied e3_downgrader.bin to my SD card, and flashed it (all switches down, except 6th is up). When I restart the PS3 it says:

"Connect the controller using a USB cable, and then press the PS button."

I did NOT press any buttons but cut the power (as instructed in the tutorial).

I've plugged in my PSP (on 5.50 GEN-D) and used PS3 JIG in the 2nd USB slot. I perform the power + eject combo, and the PSP shows the challenge/response correctly, but the PS3 just starts up again to the "Connect the controller using a USB cable, and then press the PS button."

It doesn't turn off by itself or anything.

What am I doing wrong?

Well I don't know about the E3 but I can tell you I have tried the PSP Jig to many times to count and it NEVER WORKS. Find a cheap ATMEL board for like $7 is what I did and I keep it around for cases like this as that software is buggy IMO.

Erm.. have you tried doing what it says? It needs to be plugged into the usb so it can be paired with the PS3 again.

nooo. dont do it. just power the console off. and enter fsm then downgrade.

stormeah apparently has never downgraded a console before and he should give advice on something he knows nothing about.
