Possibly enabling custom music in all games
Possibly enabling custom music in all games –
I got to thinkin the other day ago...now what we have access to everything maybe we can find out how to enable custom music in all games. Tekken and Godfather II have this "feature" so Im thinking it might be along the same lines as the remote play discovery.
it's a game feature not just a firmware feature.. so hmmmm.. let's see..
How much of a sacrifice would a background media player be to the in-game performance? With CFW it would be possible, but the memory footprint of the xmb is already cramped to get the max out of the hardware and so i must wonder if it is feasible...
Well im thinkin it is just a command inside the game itself that has a "yes" or "no" option. At first I thought Tekken had it enabled because it was a multiplat game but then I realized that couldnt be because there are other titles that do it too. I dont think it would affect in-game performance at all.
I also noticed in Tekken when a video is being played the music pauses. In Godfather II when people are talking and you have the music going it either lowers volume when people are talking or turns off completely when there is a video sequence going on.
Also for Tekken custom music cant be played while playing online ....hmm...
those games with that option has it because it is 'hard coded' into the game. take into addition games that dont. they run theyre own audio apps and surely additional cycles spent on ulterior apps would surely take a toll. realize some of these games are pure eyecandy with every clock cycle accounted for.
Now remove xmb and bring in the goods then were talkin'
But still this has been a much requested feature. im sure the engineers over at sony would of put it right if it was easy. im not saying homebrew makers are any less of coders, but these guys make and breathe ps3 code for a living and they havent added it yet. so i dont expect it anytime soon is all i am saying.
Ive heard about how Microsoft has a patent on ingame music though...any truths to that??
And with those games hardcoded with custom music...there has to be a way to make custom iso's possibly with the custom music....i dont know seems realistic. I havent dumped my copy of Tekken but I was going to look around the iso to see what could possibly be what makes the custom music work
