Well if you disable your internet question then offcourse it wont work. You need an internet connection so you can get an ip.

How are you connecting you ps3 to you pc though?

well you can use a external usb to transfer the game, there some programs to split large files, your backup launcher will rejoin the files. If you want to use FTP you must enable internet but you can disable the internet sharing on your PC so the connection doesnt transfer to your PS3

That is a long guide this maybe is a little more compact, and objective..

PS3 FTP Via LAN Cable Directly To PC - Fast and Secure

Thing is jsut setup your PC IP and default gateway with the same IP, lets say 192.168.1.1, and DNS between 0 anbd 100, doesn't matter much

give your PS3 another IP, like 2 , and one DNS in between the oens your comptuer is configured.

You need a LAN cable , FTP blackbox, or multiman, Rogero with FTP enable.

Fire blackbox on Ps3, and Filezilla on your PC, and use the IP you gave to your PS3 ( shows in the screen ) and port 21.
I found that creating the game folder helps with some permission issues inside the FTP.

I use wireless on my laptop, so I keep a configuration for PS3 transfer configured ready on my wired network adapter, I disable it when not using it.

I am a Noob BTW, but worked for me. ( Eyepet move edition still doesn't work properly though....*sigh*..)

    This is all overkill..
Give your PS3 a static address and when it comes to entering the gateway.. put in an invalid address.

    job done.

Wired? i will try that, I try to keep the numbers as closest as possible of my confg for network on Ps3, because is just so annoying to input numbers on Ps3... is like waiting to hit the jackpot..
