Hi guys,
Is it finally possible to install and play retail PSN titles on a JB PS3 ? Read somewhere that the latest PSgroove enables installation of retail PSN titles.
Is it true ?
Thanx in advance for any info![]()

Yes and no. Installing retail PKGs is enabled now, but you still need to activate certain packages on PSN.
This means game updates and demos can be installed and used, but non-free games cannot be played.
Well I have a question about this now.
I downloaded NovaStrike from a certain place, and it came with two items. A .pkg file that was about 250 megs, and a folder named NPUB30025. The instructions were:
1. FTP NPUB30025 into the hdd0/game directory (not LAUN12345/GAMEZ)
2. Copy .pkg file to USB drive
3. Install pkg file on XMB
4. Play game.
And it worked. I just tried it.
Now, I dont know if NovaStrike was a free game (which would explain things) or if it's a full fledged PSN game.
Anyone know?
anyone?
wowww it cost 10$ here is the source Novastrike Hitting PLAYSTATION Network Tomorrow
from where you downloaded it ??
Just wanted to say I also tried it with Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, which I KNOW was not a free game (from Capcom) and it worked just the same
1. FTP Folder BXXXXX to hdd0/game
2. Copy .pkg to USB drive
3. Install .pkg on XMB
4. Play
Just out of curiousity (to indecks or anyone else that might know), does that imply that games like Final Fantasy 7/8/9 which are listed as a "PSN Classics" would work in the same fashion like the games you have tested?
