I assume that you are speaking of the FAUX PSP emulator that was released? The perpetrators also used TEAMice as cover to lure unwary user to install this fiasco. SO in no part did TEAMice have anything to do with this.

Warning – Fake PSP Emulator For PS3 Bricking Consoles – Fix Included | PS3Hax Network

Here is the link that should clear up your questions for you if I have been speaking of the same scenario you refer to. Just remember you must remove your HDD from PS3 format it in your pc to wipe it clean. Does not matter what format. Then after installing it back in the PS3 reflash with the correct update. 3.41 3.41 3.41 WRITE THAT DOWN. JKin IN order for the firmware to be installed correctly your storage device must have an external power source. So no usb drives. That's because the USB port looses power in it's query for the firmware. So basically you need an external HDD with an independent power source. I hope this helps. Good luck. Let me Know how it goes? PM me with your results.

A member of this forum, whose name I cannot remember, posted a really good tutorial on everything you can do to recover from that brick. But for the life of me I can't find it. It was very thorough, and better than what I had seen at other forums for fixing it. I'll keep looking for that post, it didn't receive much attention so it's buried somewhere. What ACKRIGHT2001 posted should help you get through that brick, but if not, I don't know if anyone has specifically tried the downgrade to get around your problem, but I'd be confident that it would work.
