    Hi,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to copy a Blu-ray movie to the PS3 HDD with Jailbroken PS3?

    Thanks.

Yes, but it's a VERY long process. So long people don't usually do it. It involes running linux, ripping the movie, then running it with multiman

    That's unfortunate.

May have to purchase a Blu-ray drive for my PC...

Unless it's possible to connect the PS3's blu-ray drive to a PC?...

Do you have a link to a tutorial?

I have a Phat PS3 with USB dongle (fw 3.41).

I would need to rip the disc & copy it over to my PC.
Not sure if it would be easier to do it via the PS3 & Linux, or put drive in PC...

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Ubuntu should install fine on it using BootOS. Then use MakeMKV 1.4.10 Beta to rip the bluray as a mkv. Use multiMAN's file manager to find the file and run it.

Edit: This is actually the roughly made instructions on how to do it that I was trying to help someone with until they called me a troll that didn't know what I was talking about. Somebody didn't get to be able to backup and watch their bluray movie...

    Yeah, seen that thread!

Can we run BootOS from XMB to install Linux, what about firmware is it OK to install with 3.55 kmeaw or is it a rollback to 3.41?
