Please Help Spoofed 3.60 back to 3.55
Please Help Spoofed 3.60 back to 3.55 –
05-17-2012,04:30 PM
So I have a spoofed 3.60 trying to get back to 3.55. I don't see the bug to uninstall. I did delete (Rebug Update PAckage 0.3 (3.55.2) that did nothing.
I'm on a US Fat PS3 Metal Gear Solid Version that was backwards compatible originall 80gb.
I'm trying to get it back to 3.55 to work with the true blue dongle I just got as I can't install it's firmware on a spoofed 3.60 PS3

if you were on rebug, then you need to run rebug selector and there will be an option to uninstall. If you don't have the icon look in your install pkg menu. If it's not there, then grab the update pkg again, install it, and there will be an option to install rebug selector in the pkg menu.

Thanks for the reply. I do not have a rebug selector icon, and I have installed the latest update package 0.6 (3.55.2).
I tried to install the REBUG 3.55.2 TB EDITION by putting it on my fat32 flash drive. In the PS3/UPDATE folder, but my system says "No applicable update data was found".

STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!! REBUG 3.55 TB EDITION WILL BRICK YOUR DONGLE!!!!!!!!
Try to install this pkg file 4.00_Version_Spoofer_2.1_355.pkg run the new icon and follow instructions to spoof to 4.00. Then run it again to uninstall it. You should now say 3.55 and can install the TB firmware. Make sure you only use the official TB firmware or you're gonna have problems. If you still can't get it back to 3.55 so you can install the TB firmware, I've got rebug selector on my PS3 and I'll upload it for you so you can get up and running. The links are down on the website

You can also try to install the TB firmware from the recovery menu. It will usually bypass the spoof

found the update pkg http://www.ps3scenefiles.com/category.php?id=25 . After installing it there should be an option to install rebug selector from the install pkg menu. That's probably your best bet. You'd need to install the rebug selector, run it and select uninstall. If it doesn't say uninstall, then go ahead and install it, then uninstall it and it should fix it

Ok, I tried this method:
"Try to install this pkg file 4.00_Version_Spoofer_2.1_355.pkg run the new icon and follow instructions to spoof to 4.00. The links are down on the website"
This at first put my system in a spoofed 4.00 but, after uninstalling I went back to 3.60
I have also tried this: "found the update pkg http://www.ps3scenefiles.com/category.php?id=25 . After installing it there should be an option to install rebug selector from the install pkg menu. That's probably your best bet. You'd need to install the rebug selector, run it and select uninstall. If it doesn't say uninstall, then go ahead and install it, then uninstall it and it should fix it"
It rebooted my ps3 but there is no rebug selector. Should I try the recovery method?

after installing the update you still need to go into your package manager and look for Rebug Selector and install that. The uninstall that you need is found in Rebug Selector. It wouldn't hurt to try to flash your TB firmware from recovery menu. If it works you can bypass all these steps. Just make sure you use the official TB firmware - not the rebug one

I went into recovery and flashed that way and everything seems to be working. I am now back on 3.55 flashed the official TB cfw and was able to successfully update the dongle. I want to say thanks and offer a reward for all your time and help.
Unlike the assholes on some of the other sites.
