did that. even ran it from a blu ray disc because it won't run discless apparntlly. Get black screen still....sigh...what is the problem?

You may want to try and (ahem) re-rip the game. Then do the following:

1. As mentined before, delete all game data.
2. If you are playing on an external drive, go into the following folder on the hard drive: BLUS or BLESXXXXX/PS3GAME/USRDIR there you will see the EBOOT.BIN file, replace it with this one: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! (this has been tested on 3.41 and 3.55CFW and should work on both BLUS and BLES versions)
When you start MM, and choose MK9, it should ask you to change to an earlier version of the game, accept this and it should load up, if it doesn't, you might want to try selecting the game and while in MM, start it by pressing select + X (which still works and can be gotten around by doing some game data configuration in MM, but we're just trying to get it working for you).

If all that works then don't worry about updating the game with the pkg's available through the actual game, as bitsbubba said, it will encrypt it with keys higher than your system will allow. Join us over at the MK Modding thread, there's a guy that drops in and gets the updates encoded to where they can play on 3.55CFW machines (at least up to update 1.04, but honestly the updates aren't necessary)

If all that works out for you: install this package for the BLUS or BLES versions you have:
Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!


it will unlock the bosses and classic scoprion, subzero, reptile and ermac without doing anything but installing the pkg file

there are other DLC pks we have over in the modding thread that will unlock Freddy, Skarlet, Kenshi and the rest of the alternate DLC costumes, including Mileena's "toilet paper" costume that you get when you beat the challenge tower.

(we're even modding the characters to look like zombie's, venom and carnage and a few others)

I will work on getting them put into one rar file and uploaded for you. (these were due to scorpion2k7 and tetzreps work, not mine but happy to share)

The following pack has the Mileena TP costume, Skarlet, Kenshi, Freddy and all the retro ninja costumes (the pkg files for Freddy and Kenshi show to be for the BLUS versions but I've not heard anyone say they don't work yet on BLES in case that's the version you have)

thanks, I tried to install a freddy pack before but no go. do I need to delete the old freddy pack first? just want to make sure problems are not caused.
