    Hey guys,

I was hoping to get some assistance as I really don't want to brick my ps3, but also feel like its time to update it to get the latest games and game updates. If anyone can point me to a video or step by step directions I would greatly appreciate it and reward them.

Thanks in Advance. Oh I'm running a Fat Originally 80 GB Metal Gear Solid PS3 us version

When you say you are on "Going From 4.11, True Blue firmware 2.7", I imagine you mean it's spoofed to 4.11.

You should be fine doing the following:
1 Install and run QA flag.
2 Install 3.55 OFW. (from recovery menu)
3 Install latest Rogero. (from recovery menu)

Any change of breaking things down a bit more. I searched for the QA Flag and the first line of instructions on this site.

How to QA Flag your PS3, the button combo:

Be on 3.55 OFW (no rebug), download here.

    You're saying to QA first?

QA flag is a pkg file that you install, then run. After that you can verify that it's working with the button combo.

Here's how you enter recovery mode: How to access the PlayStation 3 Recovery Menu - PlayStation® Community Forums

To install firmware (step 2 and 3) you put the update PUP on a USB device as /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP . Enter recovery and install from there.

I installed the QA flag pkg, ran it, then tried the button combo and nothing happened.

Ok, I never seemed to get the QA flag working since it doesn't beep. Just black screen after I run either Toggle QA or PSLight.

I then went into recover mode, and installed OFW 3.55. Tried running QA flag again and same results. No beep. Black screen.

Should I run QA flag reset before continuing to recovery mode again and installed rogero's firmware?

I don't know, maybe switch to a more conventional 3.55 firmware like kmeaw or rebug, then try to activate QA.

Try the REbug Toolbox 2.0, you can also backup your flash ram too. And can get into recovery... and can set QA from a 3.55CFW. I haven't tried it myself, but check it out on their web page.

    REBUG TOOLBOX | Codename: REBUG

Thanks Codone but I'm on official 3.55 firmware and can't install .pkg. Not sure what to do next. Go to 3.55 kmeaw or rebug?

Your QA package should still be installed despite being on OFW 3.55. Check to see if it is still there. Otherwise, either kmeaw or Rebug should work.
