Please confirm before i proceed with purchase

Hi and thank you for taking the time to read my post

i have been reading all the posts on jailbreaking my ps3 - downloaded all the files to do so
was ready to have a go at doing this - my ps3 is a 60gb fat with serial CECHC

I then noticed a post stating not to do jailbreak if serial is CECHC as it would brick the console

So - just checking that nothing else has been released since these posts telling you not to jailbreak a CECHC
and does this mean to jailbreak it i would have to buy a dongle such as the cobra or is it still not possible to jailbreak my PS3

Thank you for your help and comments are appreciated, please remember we all started somewhere and I have read so many pages of posts my head hurts
just looking for verification of my understanding of it all

Hello.
The brick risk for a CECHC is the same as any other model (basically, unless you get a power cut during update, you're good to go) as soon as the firmware itself isn't ****ed up.
That post you read might be related to Waninkoko V1 CFW which was known to brick NAND (CECHA/B/C/E/G) consoles AFAIK.

You do not need a dongle, however the Cobra dongle offers more features than any currently available CFW.

As stated by Pereb27........you must have been looking at something related to Waninkoko V1 CFW.

You should have no problems with Kmeaw (any version) or Waninkoko (V2).

I am glad I went with Kmeaw........mine would've bricked if I had been impatient.

As far as the Cobra dongle goes.......it really depends on what you want to accomplish.
If you are strictly looking to back up your game discs.........Kmeaw and multiMAN will suffice.

thank you for your prompt replies i have the kmeaw it comes with rogero manager is it ok to install 2 managers or will they conflict? as multiman seems highly regarded also

You can install as many managers as you like. They don't do anything when you don't use them.
