PlayOS – First Custom Operating System for PS3

A PS3HaX member, by the name of PlayOS Developer has released the first custom operating system for PS3----PlayOS

In my opinion , we really can't call it an official "Custom Operating System" , Because it is still running on the PS3 system and did not change the XMB of PS3. What's more, it is not useful to game players, it is just good to support high-definition video with different formats.

here are more details:
1.PlayOS is a Linux-Based system.

2.It takes up 730MB of your external hard drive as it runs off External Media (Backup Manager).
Easy to use.

3.Built-in dedicated web browser “PlayBrowse”.

4.Compatible with 3.41 only.
5.You need to have a development board! Will not work with mobile phones except the Nokia N900 (Will have to look into this).
6.Video coming soon.
7.Hardware acceleration (just like OS X) enabled. This means .mkv files in 1080p!
8.Support for file types:
.zip
.tar
.gz
.mp3
.avi
.mp4
.divx
.exe – ONLY PlayOS Coded ones! Windows applications will not work with this.

Did you even bother to check the links you posted? The "Download Link" has nothing to do with the Playstation whatsoever. It's a Media player for Mac OS X. Also, you are late.
