I'm curious as to how many are taking a somewhat cautious 'wait and see' approach to jailbreaking.
I ordered a Teensy when the news broke. However, I am on 3.15 firmware and own nearly all the PS3 exclusives so getting my groove on is not imperative.
I'm mainly concerned about;
- backup manager properly stealthed
- 'Other OS' restoration or 3.15 compatibility
- offline ability to update games
- Sony's countermeasures and subsequent bannings
How about everyone else?
im almost in the same shoes as you, ive ordered a teensy++ which is to arive in a weeks time or sometihng but the thing is.. im on the latest update and i only have one ps3.. im afraid to put it in with ofline off because theres a chance i can still get banned D:
I'm fortunate to have a Palm Pre. I've successfully booted the PS3 to the point where I can install the Backup Manager and stopped there. Until we see how Sony reacts and the community responds (the typical cat and mouse game), I won't go risking another banned console.

As soon as i can i will jailbreak. I will just pick up another systme if i have too.
Well I'm glad I waited given the recent progress. Seems like we will be able to edit/remove the list of games played that is sent to Sony, so backup manager and other homebrew will be able to be stealthed and hopefully avoid getting banned just for playing offline
I'm patient and holding off for now. Besides, I'm shopping for a spare PS3 to use for this hack anyhow.
I'd jailbreak, besides ... you can always take it out, format ps3 and get online...
you are kidding right ?
format ps3 and get online
what are other implications of getting banned, aside from no online gaming and no psn access?
these two i don't really care about, so i'm curious.
Nothing really. Legally I don't think they can brick your machine.
