Playing Split files from External HDD

So i'm sure this issue has been adressed on the forums. Unfortunately, i can't find the thread, if someone can either link the thread to me or even assist in resolving the issue?

essentially, I backed up my GT5 to my External HDD and MultiMan will not allow me to play it from that source (I understand the Fat32 >4GB limit ) but i figured there was a patch or something i can do (other than copying it to my internal HDD)

there is no way to play split files off external hdd. split files are just there so you can transfer your game to your internal hard drive using your external. It just gives people another option than using ftp to send your files to internal.
