Playing backups with broken blu ray drive
Playing backups with broken blu ray drive –
Hi. I have a PS3 fat with a broken blu ray drive. I jailbrok my PS3 with my TI-84 today and sent over Ratchet and Clank to the /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/ folder. The payload I used was PL3/Hermes 4B with v3.55 Spoof. What are the next steps I have to take in order to play this game with no blu ray disk in the drive? I've installed Open Manager, Rogero Manager, and Backup Manager but I don't know where to go next.
If it will work, load the game in any of your BM's, which will kick you back to the xmb. Then goto the /app_home/PS3_GAME icon and load. Check PS Jailbreak Compatibility List - Home for a compatibility list.
before i bought a new blu ray drive, my previously broken one made it so i could not even open any pkg homebrew. once i fixed it it worked fine.
you may need to get a new blu ray drive (or just a laser)
Thanks. I tried that and I got a black screen. I checked the compatibility list and someone said they used Gaia Manager, so I'll go try that now.

Well this is news to me. I thought a non-functioning Blu-Ray drive meant no games could be played what so ever (even from the hard drive)? Or is there a spectrum of broken to working?

I'm thinking of getting a ps3 with a faulty blu ray drive just to JB. I had a look at the compatibility list. Doing a quick Ctrl-F find, only a couple of games on the entire list requires a disc, and they are mainly the mediocore ones anyway.
I was wondering if anyone, lanthenum maybe, is able to get most/all of their games working with a faulty blu ray?
This is seriously exciting!
