Play 2011 Blu Ray on 3.41?

So I tried watching a newer 2011 release Blu Ray tonight on my 3.41 PS3, but it refused to play, wanting me to upgrade to 3.50.

Is there *any* way to play my Blu Ray on 3.41? with Jailbreak dongle? etc.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I can't even watch movies if I don't let Sony rape me in the ass. Not even a 3D movie mind you.

Dang, thats lousy if that is true, if they are somehow incorporating that into blu-ray movies now. I hope not but i wouldn't expect much less from these fascist F*#k's. I know my next console wont be a sony. Ill enjoy what i got for the meantime but i am done putting money into companies that treat their fans like crap. Sony really needs to take a look at their competitors. I mean as much as I do hate microsoft, at least them and Nintendo dont act like children when they get their consoles hacked. Also take a tip on microsoft on how they handle the Kinect and inviting the community of devs to improve it.

This would be a real kick in the nuts if you had an 'offline' ps3... why should you be forced to update for this :S

You could try to jailbreak with a payload that spoofs 3.55. Then put your blue ray in the ps3 and run your back up manager, in the games list there will be a blank entry usually at the top. select it and when the ps3 returns to the xmb go to video and play your blue ray. I can't promise you this will work but it is something to try.

im going to rent a new blu ray tomorrow and report back. u can see in my sig im on hermes cfw. id like to know even tho i never use the bd player.
sony is fighting this cfw way to hard. i will not be buying any sony products anytime soon. hell, i decided that after they removed otheros

Does anyone have any info on this? I'm still concerned about it. Haven't rented another BluRay in awhile.
