PKG files not showing on XMB anymore help!!!

Ok its been a few months since ive used my jailbroken ps3 with ps3key usb stick, i want to install a backup manager which i have copied the pkg file to my sd card, but when i select 'Install Package files' in the XMB nothing shows up for me to install. Do i have to put the pkg files in a folder on the SD card or does the SD card need to be formated to fat32 or something as i cant remember?

Your external device needs to be formatted as fat32 for it to show up on the PS3.
I put all my packages on the root of my USB drive and they are detected and install just fine.
