PIC18F4550 Help! –
I havethe PIC18F4550 USB DEV KIT.
I've downloaded Microchip Bootloader USB HID v2.6b and I've been using it to flash various hex files to the board (as I assume this is where i'm going wrong).
The device sometimes flashes constantly when in the PS3, but never jailbreaks. It's always just regular PS3.
Which hex file is right for this exact board? or what am I doing wrong?
I've searched loads before posting so please help
Are u on 3.41 ofw?
not 100% sure but for that board chipset u may need compile psgroove.hex for 20mhz bootloader..

Reason: added more tx
the file links above should help
What exactly is this file for:
Is this something intended for 32-bit Windows systems?
Has the file been compiled for the MCHPUSB bootloader?
I think the device he is using is the one on sale by Red box mods.
Reading PSX Scene there was instructions on how to program it, which included a windows program that needed some windows developement stuff installed, thats the EXE.
The trouble is all the HEX files that you can find referenced won't work, they seam to install but just don't break. The HEX's on the link above work or at least the v3 one does as it's the only version I tried. I think and may be wrong that the PIC sold is 15mhz and that's not standard.
Anyway it works so great.
Is this PIC dongle updateable(hex files)? I've read so many reviews and information about dongles I don't know where to begin. I know the ATMEL boards are fully updateable but not sure about this one here. I think I read a review that it was but not sure. Thanks!
Yeah! I actually found the information from your site in the dongle description here:
