hi
i have a path ps3 , lens seem to be foulty .
it was on old f/w so i installed 3.55 then 3.55 cfw , then upgraded to CEX-4.30 v2.03
installed latest multiman.
put some games on external hdd , i can see the games but when i load any of them and go to /game/ folder and try to run it , i get black screen.
some game get my ps3 to restart..... others just finish on black screen.
tried copy to internal hdd same problem.
is this couse of the bad lens on the ps3 ?
i tried fix permisions , fix broken bd drive ( uit said all o.k )
only thing i can do is hold down the power and start it again.
ideas ? ( maybe something wrong with the jb ? )

I am total newbie on this but from what I have read you need to have a game any game in the drive to get back ups to work unless you use bdemu2(bluray drive emulation) but I dont know for sure. I am sort of looking into this b/c I thought I would try to preserve the life of my bluray drive... I think you would need a bdemu2 package signed for the newer firmware we are using. It is hard to nail down info maybe an expert can weigh in and at least you got a bump for your post

are you using any game settings in multiman?
press square on the game you are going to load. brings up game settings menu. check to use bd mirror, then fix the permissions of the game.
