P3Go GT - Update Procedures
P3Go GT - Update Procedures –
11-22-2010,09:55 PM
Hello everyone,
This is for the people who have newly acquired a P3Go GT and wish to update to the latest FW/Payload. I have had the P3Go GT for about a week now and when it came time to update I was pretty confused. I know the Chinese translation can be a bit sketchy and hard to understand. Hope this helps!
How I perform the update is as follows:
1)Insert MicroSD card into the P3Go
2)It'll recognize the MicroSD as a separate drive in My Computer
3)Format the MicroSD card to Fat32 if it is not already
4)Place the Update.bin into the Empty MicroSD Drive
5)Safe Remove the Device from your computer
6)Physically remove the P3Go GT from your USB slot
6)Reinsert and the update should be automatically performed. Make sure you do NOT disturb this process. Process Usually takes less than 10-15 seconds. Once it is done, your computer will automatically be able to identify the drives again.
*For the updates I have performed, after a successful upgrade the original Update.bin file is automatically deleted from the MicroSD card on reconnect*
**UPDATE: The MicroSD is only needed on the initial update, after which the updated bin file can just be placed on the internal flash. Rest of the procedure from that point on should be the same as above. Thanks to bitsbubba for the reminder.
Good luck!
Best,
NeSs

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
My P3Go-GT is on the way and I was really confused on how to update it after reading the home site. These instructions will be very helpful.
I'm currently using the PS3Key. How do I go about replacing it with the P3Go-GT? Do I have to DELETE any files in my PS3 or is it a simple case of just unplugging the PS3Key and inserting the P3Go?

Hello, I have both as well. Simple swap. No need to delete or replace anything.
Glad it helped!

Don't forget to mention any update after this one the update bin no longer goes on the micro SD card, but needs to be placed on the internal flash memory of the P3Go GT-Break II

I can't seem to get it.
Plug the p3go with the microsd card on, PC install the driver.
Format to fat32 the sdcard in the p3go, then copy on bin file in the sdcard side.
safely remove the dongle, put it back in and nothing.
The pc see the dngle, the bin file still in the same place.
Property of the usb doesn't say P3GO USBDISK VO8
Tried on another windows machine, still the same.

Great card I have 2 but it's so confusing to use
First of all I'm not trying to be rude but if we are going to start making tutorials on how to update this thing we need to be clear about steps....
Here you say reinsert and the update should be automatically performed....reinsert to your PC??? shouldn't it be "inserted" into your PS3 not your PC so that it could be updated????? Please clarify some of these steps if you look at the thread there are already confused folks...including myself....Thank you
