After blocking PSN access and killing new games on JB consoles ( e.g. Need for Speed HP, GT5, The Sly Collection, Prince of Persia 3D, etc ...), $ony managed to kill its new game updates as well.
Now we have two updates that are currently DOA:
1- Call of Duty Black OPS 1.03 ( Retail : available now, Debug / NA ) FW 3.50 - > Black screen on JB even with 3.50 spoofing
2- Assassins Creed Brotherhood 2.01 ( Retail : coming soon, Debug : available now ) FW 3.30 -> Error 80010019 with normal installation , crashes to XMB with patched bin and self files (using 3.41 SDK tools )
Conclusion : $ony might not block access to new debug updates after all, however,I think that every new patch from now on will be compiled with 3.50+ SDK and/or keys making it practically useless to use on JB devices..
It is a fact that the scene came to live when ( and only when ) leaked documents/device/software from $ony were available, and with the latest series of events, one can safely (and sadly) say that the PS3 scene has been successfully killed by $ony for good...
Hackers/coders have had the system since November 11, 2006 and without the aforementioned leaked material, they could do NOTHING to hack it ...
Leaking any more material now is much more harder as $ony is paying much more attention, and even if 3.50 material gets eventually leaked, 3.51 will follow instantly rendering it useless ...
It was fun while it lasted, and may all our beloved JB PS3s R.I.P...

Lovely scaremongering there, now please go away.
Not a day goes by where they don't gain access further into the depths of the PS3. Right now, several (notable) people are working on reversing the Hypervisor more and more. Combined with the decryption of the 3.5 firmware files, it's only a matter of time before someone figures out a way to boot into a (modified, "jailbroken") 3.5 GameOS.
The scene isn't dead, in fact it's only just getting started. There's more life in the PS3 hacking scene than there is in the 360 hacking scene and new Dashboards don't stop that.

Call of Duty Black OPS 1.03 runs perfekt with same eboot.bin change as on 1.02...
So dont tell false information.

RIP my ar$e. A couple of games don't work as soon as they have been released woopee do. Give it time and those games will be working along with the patches (The patches which we originally could not have on JB machines).
The scene will continue to gather momentum (more so on weekdays than weekends) and 3.50 will here in the not too distant future. Like Kushan points out there are some notable hackers working on this as well as other hackers allegedly holding certain things back until they are necessary.
At the end of the day the scene is more than just "Backup games".

Most of yhe "notable" people love to keep secrets, and they have the habit of not sharing what they have with the world, if you don't want to believe that the scene is dead, then fine, I just want to tell you that JB PS3s will have a long not-too-deserved holiday with the upcoming titles ...

yea, it's not just "Backup games" ,there are some emulators and homebrew applications and games, and I think it is harsh to compare those with something like GT5, Killzone 3, Uncharted 2 , or even with PSN access
by the way, do you have ANY evidence that the notable hackers are working on this? and even if they are, most of them don't care about booting games nor accessing PSN, I know my JB PS3 will be collecting dust for a long time ...

I am all ears to hear your evidence on how alive you think the scene is ....

Dude, if you're that concerned that the scene is dead, why don't you upgrade to 3.50 and leave the scene already. Ya realize it took over a year for the wii to load games off an HD? Over 2 years for cfw on the PSP? Over 3 years for HD loading on the ps2? Be patient. It will happen.

Sorry but as i dont see the need in "complain"-threads i also dont see the need in "i think its all fine"-threads. Everywhere i look, complains complains complains. Complains about scene dead, complains about sony, complains about various jailbreaksticks, complains about devs, etc etc... Rediculous discussions about this and that.
psx-scene would be better without all that crying shit
