Online Hacking

I know with the recent spate of CFW releases, to me these have come as a blessing and a curse. With people now being able to play online with the recent developments in custom firmware, can $ony actually do anything to stop this. What I'm getting at is that I was playing Modern Warfare 2 with a friend (who doesn't own Black Ops) and we were unable to find a game that wasn't hacked, which completely ruins the game. I just hope that this isn't the case in the future and is this is just a one off.

Can $ony stop this? Would they be able to implement a scan of the HDD upon connection and and verify it's files by name and size. I know the backup managers could probably be renamed as a legitimate filenames instead of OMAN12345, but could they fake the size of the file. I just hope $ony find a way to stop this as it could be a major problem in the future.
