I know with xbox 360, MS has a hard time detecting modded xboxes due to the way the firmware can now be flashed but with CFW on Sony, is it similar or would it be a clear flag if you're online with CFW? I know they recently released a ban threat so I was curious if there was anything I could do before going online or is the answer to not go online b/c it will be an instant ban?

No one's really been banned for cfw yet. If you stay offline that's pretty much like banning yourself anyway right? Go for it.

there is no way to get a moded 360 on line, the ones with flashed dvd drives are not changing any of the 360's system files or the systems operation. it is just letting the dvd drive read some disks that is not intended to. with the ps3 you have things added to the app list like multi man that should be easily detected.

they can do the nintendo's style on DS, like it will try to detect the card if theres a DLDI access on the cart.

in PS3, it's very easy, the game will try to peek/poke on certain syscall, if success then that's it, youve been detected as a CFW user.

They've started banning. Avoid Black Ops. Avoid any updates or game patches. Dont use ur main account to go on PSN. use a secondary.
