old laptop

I read along and seen a guy say he wanted to use his laptop for external hdd , I have one laying around and would like to turn this into external hdd for ps3 , Would it be best to install it to my ps3 or run a usb cable, I have been out of the game since ps1, and all this new usb and crazy stuff, I am starting to intake it in my mind

if you want to use as usb hdd then all you have to do is to format the hdd to fat32 and then create a folder named GAMEZ then copy your games to that folder and then plug to ps3 via usb port and start your fav.open backup manager

But just so its clear, you cant use your laptop itself as the HDD, you must remove the HDD and use that in a sata to usb case.

Nope this laptop is only going to be from hdd PS3 gamez.

So from what I got,
- Format to fat32
-Install windows?
-Make a folder called GAMEZ, Send games over by FTP?

PLAY these game from the laptop by having my USB cable togather, and use Multiman to open?

Reply on my own, But I been doing some work and it seem to me, I need to delete NTFS, and Partition that drive, making one windows xp, and once I have install windows I use some kind of program (EASEUS) to make the none NTFS drive to FAT32, Then once all is said Put a folder Called GAMEZ on the FAT32, and use that for my external HDD as mY PS3 DRIVE.

Question, once this is done and everything is hooked up, I use the Multiman on the PS3 REAL DRIVE to play my external games..?
and since I am not using the laptop I will be using ftp from my computer to file to my new external hdd, does this sound right...?

Ok well better yet, I am talking to my own post, but I opened up my laptop and notice there was only 50gb, So I think I am stepping up and buy a used 500gb USB HDD, Now I am sure it all the same, hook it up the my computer fotmat it to fat32 and then do the same make a GAMEZ FOLDER, And downoad from my computer to the FAT32 same way as I would with my flash USB, aND WHEN THE games are loaded move that to the PS3, OPEN UP with multiman?
