Old 3.41 Fat ps3
Hey guys, I got an old Fat PS3 with firmware 3.41 on it, I've been looking on the forums and ive found a couple of old threads about installing custom firmware onto it (From like January). I was wondering if there was any up to date HOW TO's for installing the custom firmware onto my console.
If you dont want to lose 3.41 over 3.55 cfw then I recommend you to download 3.41.3 rebug. Its awesome and I am loving it. I am still using 3.41 user and I dont need 3.55 unless it is a must in the future. Right now, I am stick with 3.41.3 rebug for now. :)
I personally would go with Hermes 3.41. I've had since it January and never had an issue with it. The drive is busted on my Hermes Ps3 & I've found that 3.41 has better discless compatibility than 3.55. I also have a Kmeaw 3.55 system (drive working) so I've been able to test this. As to installing CFW its still done the same way as the tutorials say, through the recovery menu. It's pretty simple compared to hacking a Wii, it took a fair bit of messing around to get Gamecube backups workin' and stuff. Stick with 3.41, if the drive craps itself you will have better compatibility with 3.41 & most games run on 3.41 that run on 3.55 in some cases i've found some games that wouldnt run on 3.55.
