Is It Ok To Upgrade?

Hi all newbie here, this may have been asked before but...

I have a 3.55 custom firmware PS3, and I was just wondering if I updated it to the latest OFFICIAL firmware, will I get banned or anything, or will I be fine to go online as normal?

Because online is WAY better than having cfw, so that's why I want to upgrade.

buy to ps3 keep one for ofw and one for cfw rebug 4.31 all ways can downgrade if you wish plays all games now

You can still go online with your CFW. Just need to know your way in. Or do like berty321 said and buy another PS3 with OFW already on it and use that one for online. A CFW 3.55 is so nice to have, it would be a shame to ruin it. I play everyday online with my 3.55 CFW.

Yeah dude don't update. I did a little bit ago and regreted it.. Just downgraded back recently. Rogero 4.30 plays all games without needing to patch and you can use psn. Plus showtime with the navi x plugin kicks any other media services ass.

Do as you want after all it's your Ps3. If you wanna update then update but be warned you can never go back unless you have a flasher

i would be sure to do a full format from recovery before getting off 3.55OFW. but you could sell your ps3 that can get custom firmware for more than enough to cover a new in box and have money left over.
