ofw 3.41 used to use ti84+... now I want to play GOW ascension... what to do?

Hi peepz!

A looooooooong time ago i had me ps3 hacked to play backups.
I didn't use my play for a long time but now i want to play GOW ascension.

On system settings it says I'm 3.41 ( i think OFW as there's nothing else next to it)
I'm reading all different things about updating to cfw etc.

But I still do'nt know exactly what to do. My fw isn't between the fw's that guides say can update to cfw.
What to do??

If I was you i would:

1. update to OFW 3.55
2. update to CFW 3.55
3. install MultiMan 4.20.04
4. install GOW:A
5. install fix for GOW:A (you will need any ps3 game disc inside bluray)
6. play & profit :-)

I have allready installed REBUG_4.30.1_PS3UPDAT.PUP before I've read your message by starting the PS3 with my ti-84+.
Shoud be a CFW but my ps3 sais "version 4.31". I was able to install multiMAN 04.20.04 and I can open it.
In multiMAN it sais that my FW is 4.30 (in system info.).

I have followed these steps to get GOW:A on my HDD -> God of War Ascension External Hdd

But now I can't seem to play it. WHen i open it in multiMAN i go back to XMB (real one, not multiMAN's different looking one).
My GOW:A file is God.of.War.Ascension.PS3-DUPLEX. Should be for 4.30 CFW.

Any idea what I can do now?

Frankly my other backup games won't work any longer to.
I've tried some things from various guides on the internet and nothing seems to work :s

Did you use Eboot fixes for your backups? If yes you need to use original eboots. You can also try to uninstall all game data/patches (XMB->Game->Game Data)

You've installed multiMAN 04.20.04 directly? You need to install Base version first (install 04.20.00 then install or update to 04.20.04)

About "System version 4.31" - it's normal - you have 4.30 CFW that's spoofed to 4.31 for SEN/PSN work

I don't know if it's patched. But I'd say no as the torrent title or info didn't say anything about it.

So I need to uninstall all game data from all games I have in that list?

Sometime eboot fixes comes in patch format - just delete all things in "Game Data Utility" (XMB->Game column->Game Data Utility) then try to run game. If it won't work and you don't have original eboots for games then you can try to install an officiall update for game. Downlaod and install this tool:

Then search for an update and downlaod it via this tool (just write gameID). Install update on PS3 and try to run this game.

And what you mean by "none of my games works"? After selecting game in mM and trying to run it from XMB what happens? It goes back to XMB with an error? (if yes - what error code?).

Go to multiMAN's settings column and make sure that "BDEmulator" option is enabled - it's last (or almost last) option in settings column.

I've first deleted all game files and made sure BD-rom emulator option is enabled. Tried to run the game but no luck.
Then I've installed update 1.01 and it shows GOW:ascension on the XMB now (instead of toy story which is inside the PS3).
But when I try to open it (in XMB) it doesn't open and i get kicked back to XMB. No error code.

Also tried the Blob 2: An error occurred during start operation (80010017). And I cant seem to re-apply permissions for that game.
Then Prototype: works fine.

80010017 - you need to use original eboot

About GoW:A - try to delete game and copy it once more (be sure to copy all files). I've had the same issue - deleting game and copy it once more helps.
