Occam's Razor FILE PERMS
because of the limitations of the ftp app i cant do this! chmod = none
well one thing i notice while browsing the PS3 is the difference between locked and save games, taking them over to the system file editor you can easily unlock gamesaves, pretty sweet for those who want to upgrade their HDD but are worried about losing that locked data
@Eyed1: This is something I was also wondering about a few days ago when I heard about save issues and etc.
I remember someone saying that FileZilla could also connect using the FTP server. Won't this allow file permissions to be changed easily enough?
I have yet to look at the file permissions of games but are game file permissions different when backed up and when on the BD-R and HDD?
I could only imagine the files on a BD-R are not wiretable or modifiable/appendable. And save files located on your HDD are only writeable.
Has anyone tried modifying permissions on the backed up game files to replicate the exact file permissions on the GameDisc and HDD saves so that there was no difference whatsoever and then try and play the game?
Once again, I have yet to check file permissions and this is based soley around the fact that file permissions change when you back up games.
