Well, first off. The title. Secondly, it's about copying over games to the ps3 internal hdd.
I did a bit of searching, but either I fail at searching or I fail at reading, either way.
Mods, Admins, whomever, delete this if need be.
I was on google searching to see if I could mod Fallout New Vegas on the PS3
Found a tutorial so I dl'd the pc version and tools to get what I need.
Quite frankly, the game ****ing sucks. Maybe some fun mods'll make it funner?
I was reading a forum thread about it and the guy who done the mod added
an option to keep it from copying over unneeded files to the
/dev_hdd0/game directory to keep it from using up more space
My question is, is it possible to just copy all the games I backup/dl to the
/dev_hdd0/game folder, instead of /dev_hdd0/GAMEZ or /GAMES or /where-ever?
Or would that just be a bad idea?
Also, a bit off topic (I think?): I just put in a 500gb hdd into my Fat 40gb PS3
On the 40GB I copied over NFS:Hot Pursuit, Just Cause 2 and Naughty Bear
(about 31GB free before I copied the games, which ended up with about 18GB free)
When I put in the 500GB drive, and formatted it, apparently it used about 52GB
of space, which I'm sure is.. unnecessary? But I can't find out why or where
all the space is being taken up at.
If these two questions are in the wrong forum, I apologize, feel free to delete.
If anyone can answer them, without being an ass about it, that'd be much
1) Fallout New Vegas does NOT suck. have you actually played any fallout games on this generation of consoles? It is actually better than Fallout 3 IMHO in quests and story telling.

As far as your other questions, I'm not sure.... maybe someone else can help you.
1. It would be a bad idea. The stuff in /dev_hdd0/game is the installed data for the games. If you have your BLES folder (full game) where it's trying to copy the BLES folder (installed data) you'll end up with files overwriten/corruption.
2. 1mb = 1024kb - So, that's where the first part of your space went. 2nd part of it was lost due to the PS3 reserving 10% of the HDD for system space. No way around that, unfortunately.
Thanks for the quick replies, and honestly Fallout 3 was better.. New Vegas just.. looks.. i dunno?
500GB is actually 465GB, and formatting left me with 413GB, so yeah I know about that (s'all good!)
Didn't know about the 10% thing though, that sucks hard. I figured the games were left
Somewhere on the drive or something I'm not sure.
I figured something like that (about copying over files in /dev_hdd0/game)
But thanks for clearing it up for me, chesh.
