NOOB needs help please

I have a couple of questions and I'm hoping someone can help.

I have a US ps3 on 3.41 I have a ps3break also.

I'm having trouble playing alot of backups Assassins Creed Brotherhood EUR (bles0910), Call of Juarez 2 US (blus30347), etc. When I try to play these I just get a black screen and nothing else. On some backups it boots straight back to XMB. Please help I've been trying for days. Thanks

boot them in patched mode with a bluray game in drive,
start up put disc in go to open manager or loader of choice press r1 or r2 to load game in patched mode.
when asked if you want to boot from loader pick no,go to disc icon on dash an it should show the game chosen to play.

oh an be carefull of running brother hood with out a disc in as it mess's up your hd files

I appreciate you trying to help I'm using latest multiman does it matter which manager you use. Also when I hit R1 to patch it says scanning but the game I'm trying to patch is not on the screen listed. Any suggestions? Should I be hitting R1 with the game already in the disc drive?
