NHL 11 boot error

Hey guys, i'm relatively new to the scene and have been reading a bunch of topics but can't seem to find a clear answer to my question. I'm using PS3 Break v. 1.1 running OM 1.161 and hermes v.4 and can't seem to get NHL 11 to run on my ps3 fat. When i tried loading it the first time (without updating) with going to XMB, it gave me an error and sent me back to the XMB (with and without having a bd in the drive). I ran the game again without the backup (using the original disc) and updated the version. Then, after completing the update, i loaded it, went back to XMB and tried running it again, this time getting the Black screen of death and having to turn off my system. I had read that the ps3 fat's can't run games 4 gb or more (and something about the data being separated in parts...), but i've successfully backed up Vanquish and TFU2 and played them without the BD, and they're over 4 gigs. Any tips on getting NHL 11 to work?

I have nhl 2011 and it runs perfectly with a bd inside though.. oyu MUST have a disc in the drive...

what update of the game are you running (if you updated at all) 1.01? 1.02? Are you using Hermes v4?
