newbe need help

Ok first of all I would like to say thanks for all the great help here. Make it fun to be able to get help. I just flashed my x3max with the Generic v1.1 then I programed the pl3 hex. I put it in the ps3 and seen 2 folders but then what. I did not see a backup manger and where do I go and load the games that I own on disk. I would like to have all my games on a external hard drive. Did I miss something or do something wrong.

I dont have a x3max so i dont know if you flashed it right, besides that lets go over the basics...'

Are you using 3.41 fw?
Unplug your console, plug it back in. Disconnect other USB devices besides the x3max. Press the power button then quickly press the eject button right after.
After your XMB has loaded, insert your drive that contains the Backup manager pkg file and install it. You should then see Backup Manager on your xmb.

If you did it right then you should see a few extra items under Game on the XMB
If you did it wrong then your ps3 should say that an 'Unknown device is connects'

Thanks, It worked out great. thanks for the info. Another problem is I can not play games from external hard drive that I just backed up on it.

You need to load the game via your BM which will then kick you back to the XMB. Then you select the disk icon in the Game XMB if you have a disk in the drive (better compatiblity) or you select /app_home/PS3_GAME (lesser compatibilty) if you're running diskless.

don't forget to format your external hardrive to fat32 before conecting to your ps3.
