A new team of developers is rising - Update 3 Application loader keys –
01-01-2011,11:13 AM
After all the exciting events from fail0verflow, some of our old friends here decided to team up creating a team that is still to be named.
The first output of the new team is Lv2ldr keys that decrypt all the external lv2 versions from pre 1.00 to anything below 3.40.
The new team will include : Mathieulh, RichDevX, Graf_Chokolo, N_D_T, and TitanMKD.
Things are getting more exciting, and here is the full post from Mathieulh's twitter :

Use the algorithm available here: https://ps3wiki.lan.st/index.php/Self_Crypto
and here: https://ps3wiki.lan.st/index.php/SEL...and_Decryption
To perform the decryption.

Just seen this as well.
Will be a good thing I think for another team.

Can you give me a link to that tweet? Twitter somehow ****s up the sync for the newest tweets in some regions

my problem with this is, graf_chokolo is known to happily release his findings to the community, whereas mathieulh and richdevx are both known to thumb their noses at us, hold back their findings when it suits them, and give us the whole "we've known about that for months and just didn't want to release it publicly" attitude....
so, which stance is this team going to adopt? if they don't release all their findings, their helpfulness to the scene will be limited

Maybe we shouldn't have released that key then....
It was actually Rich and I who chose to publish it you know ?

But the "scene" is not losing anything.
These guys are some of the brilliant hackers (beside team fail0verflow, I think) of the ps3. Without them the "scene" would make much less progress. Same if they decide not to release their stuff to the broad public.
Alot of the "scene" are people like me: Unable to really contribute in such complex topics of encryption. So I'm happy about everything that the devs release.
