dont worry the freezing is normal. ive been on a pl3 payload for ages now and it always freezes, since this cfw uses pl3 it will freeze as well.
Good news, the freezing become less frequent over time and you'll get used to it.
the CFW doesn't "use" PL3, it only patches the 3 bytes flukes1 told everyone to patch to enable peek and poke.
the lv2 patcher application on the other hand does use PL3.
and i still dont see the problem with PL3, I never had an issue with it on 3.41 and have yet to experience a freeze on 3.55
why so much hate for PL3? its the only open source payload around anyway.
i did not like hermes tho. would always not initialize all the way with my dongle and did cause freezes much moreso than PL3
Please use the updated version of lv2 patcher. It helps with instability issues.
Some people call this "v4". To be precise, this is git-1b70c4d. This version prints white letters on a black screen and by default applies 1 payload and 4 patches. MD5 checksum of pkg is 78a22498f167119e4eb4a9ce416657da.
Great.
Many thanks to you good sir, I'll try tommorow as it is close to 1am here.
I hope this adds a little bit stability to it as I experience many freezes and therefore corrupted game saves with the first lv2
or you could skip that altogether and just use a manager that patches PL3 to lv2 memory on boot up
cut out the middle man.
so far all the major backup managers do this.
