New to Jailbreak on PS3 2.36

Hi everyone. I want to run a jailbreak on my PS3 which has version 2.36. My intentions are to make backup copies of games I own so I can boot them off my hard drive.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I assume I need to update to 3.55 and then jailbreak, but I have no idea how or if that is correct.

Although personally i prefer multiman, gaia is alright.

Usually I make a post and search while I wait. I need to ensure I don't jailbreak by following the wrong tut, so while I get flamed for newb status I can actually get pointed in the right direction.

I do xbox 360 and know it well, first time for ps3

You just get the 3.55 update file and update from USB. Get it from here:

We never know if $ony will do a stealth update, for people who don't know how to verify md5, it's best to get it from a trusted place. Several places listed here.

update to ofw 3.55 first then update to kmeaw cfw 3.55 via recovery mode so u can install the cfw on top of ofw 3.55

So I installed CFW 3.55 and gaia manager, worked perfectly

Problem now is I cannot figure out how to rip a game and then play it... what do I need to do? Does anyone have a quick sec to help?

Put the disk in the drive, select the button for copy, tell it which drive to save to, you're done.
