NEW HDD SLOW Help
NEW HDD SLOW Help –
Hey everyone I just purchased a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500G SATA 5400RPM,8M notebook HDD for the ps3 to replace the standard 40Gb one and it seems to run games slower for example in fighting games when doing massive combos it will freeze for like 2-4 seconds
When I install back the 40Gb, the games run perfectly smooth.
I've tried formatting the new HDD several times, Could it be that I got the wrong HDD for the ps3?
Thanks in advance
See if the hdd has a jumper setting to set it to sata 1.
5400 RPM ...
it's a small margin between the 5400 RPM and the 7200 RPM but it does effect the 5400 RPM drive by 1-4 seconds read/write time.
Hey Thanks for the quick replies,
There's no sata 1 jumper setting
The 40gb I had inside that came with the ps3 is a Seagate LD25.1 40GB SATA/150 5400RPM 2MB 2.5" Hard Drive so with it being 5400RPM shouldn't it be the same speed?
Cause with the 40gb everything runs perfectly, could the new HDD be faulty?
I'm still able to install games and run them etc..
Thanks for the details, yeah I got the WD5000BEVT which i guess is the AUS version of the BPVT?
I'm gonna see if I can return the hard drive.
The BEVT should be fine, it seems you have a different problem?...
