New black ops update problem

Hi guys,

I have CFW kmeaw and gaia 2.05 running black ops OK but today I was prompted to update to 1.06 and now it wont load.

If I remove update then it plays again. I have tried everything I can think off but nothing works.

Anyone else having problem with Black Ops and 1.06 on cfw ?

i have just downloaded the updste and its working fine i did back mine up from original disk though

remove the update (this can be done by deleting the entry for it in the GAME folder (not Games) - Google this to confirm the actual process!!! Edit : http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/del...ded-ps3-69032/ (Delete game update downloaded by PS3?)

You could then use the brewology update downloader to just get yourself back to 1.05 if 1.06 is actually causing you problems.

Are you loading from USB or Internal?

I will try a different manager.

I am using internal HDD. Never use ext HDD its not worth the hassle.

Its doing me head in, in xmb I can remove game data and it works fine. If I start game again and install 1.06 all I get is a black screen. I can even restart ps3 from power switch and try again and its still black.

Hey just had a thought, I am using a non UK version of Black Ops in the UK do you think the update is for UK version ?

Just to let you know, I got hold of a UK copy of Black Ops and the online update 1.06 install and now plays OK.

So it looks like the problem was USA game on HDD not liking the UK update.

Interesting, didn't know updates were region specific, nor that it was decided by the BL*S of the game, instead of the actual console and where it's located.. I guess "legit" players would never notice the difference..

so does black ops work online? it is telling me to update.

Just select X on your control and let it update. Its only a game update it will not harm your ps3.

I went online just to test and it worked fine but I never played anything, for starters I have no friends ..lol

If the game after update does not work it could be the same problem I have and that the update does not match the game id number.

i just ran black ops from my external. i updated it from online and it works perfectly.
