New Backup/Ripping Method

From what I thought as well the backup manager decrypts the eboot.bin
so have you tested your backup game after ripping it through ftp?

I plan to use this method with bigger games. I ran out of space on my current PS3 HDD so I ordered a 500gb HDD for my PS3. Has anyone notice that some games run slower on an external HDD? I had this problem with Madden 11 so I transferred to the PS3 HDD.

I tested this. For Heavenly sword it only copied across ~300MB or something. This doesn't work...

I attempted this with God of war 3 twice, and it wouldn't work on my external.
I compared the folder size of the dump with the BD data, and they were the exact same size, but when I try to launch i get the 8001003e error. it says I must insert GOW3 game disk.

Did you have a game disc in the PS3 drive? There has to be a retail game disc in the drive but it doesn't matter what game. This is just my guess!

All of my games are FTP'd with the exception of 2 or 3

They all work, except MW2 ntsc, the list says pal works though? Does the ps3 have a gigabit card?

Yeah, I did. It mounted, and showed up on the xmb, but when it is selected it gives me that error and says the god of war disk must be inserted.

I will try some other things and cross my fingers.

i can confirm it works also. for those that cant get it to work make sure it transfer the whole game. remember the ps3ftp is buggy so sometime it would randomly disconnect. try using filezilla it'll tell you what files failed to transfer. that way u can just go to the ps3 relaunch ftp and send the rest of the files.

well dude thats not going to work because when u dump the disc using ftp u r dummpig it encrypted and the game will give u eboot error but the backup manager will backup the game and decrypt it so thats why it will not work but check this i think it will help a lot
