Thought this might be worth discussion/investigation.

Now that viable 3.55 CFW is coming around, BUT lots of us want to be safe and stay off PSN with this, I'm wondering if it would be possible to bypass the PSN signin with the latest version of Netflix? Surely, the PSN login is just arbitrarily added for security.

Perhaps somebody with the know-how could decrypt the Netflix app and possibly patch it? Won't hold my breath, but it would be really cool.

    Same here.

People have said to use PlayOn which would be great if it worked correctly for me. For the past 3 days I've had shows on netflix play the final 30 seconds and say it's over, and then had it not work for hours at a time. Playon issue or netflix issue I don't know but it got annoying.

I couldn't decide what I wanted to take a look at first, either being able to watch Netflix without connecting to PSN, or getting PS1 backups to play on the PS3.

Maybe I'll see if I can figure out a way to get Netflix to skip the PSN auth check. The content on the CDN's is available for everyone with no authentication I think, or at least that's how NHL GCL is, so it shouldn't be that hard to just get the app to skip that check and go right to fetching video. I guess someone just needs to unself the .self, I'm guessing with graf's tools this is possible but I haven't had a chance to look at those tools yet myself. From what I gathered they're payload based and run on the actual PS3. I would much prefer a script I could run on my PC to decrypt npdrm selfs, but maybe we'll see that in the coming days.
