    1. Yes, you can transfer games to the internal HDD by using a FTP server built into your backup manager or Blackb0x FTP server
    2. The tried and true method right now is to upgrade to 3.55 OFW if you're not already on it, then upgrade to Wutangrza's CFW via recovery, then install Geohot's patch via XMB, and then install kmeaw's CFW via recovery. Once you're done with that, install lv2.pkg and run it everytime you reboot your console before you want to run a backup manager. This should at least get you started.

Dude. He just needs to go to OFW then to kmeaw's, and install the lv2 patcher and Rogero or some other manager. Done. No need to do Wutangrza or Geo's CFW.

There have been some reports of users getting weird errors by not going the long way around, the only reason I suggest it. It worked for me, and a couple of others in the Backup Manager Patch for CFW thread. Just saves time and hassle of t-shooting later if need be.

Oh, and here's a tutorial if you need it: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/cus...1-noobs-76406/

...or introduces the possible problems of going from a "verified" (original) firmware and then three other "unverified" (modified) firmwares...

Sounds like three more opportunities for a brick if you ask me. But hell, what do I know?

kmeaw's firmware has peek and poke implemented in lv2 (which doesn't seem to be bricking the 16MB NAND's as Wanin's does. It also has patched package verification so there is no need for egohot's fake signing bypass. He's also provided the lv2 patch pkg which enables the syscalls necessary for backup managers based on the PL3 payload (it is actually buggy, I'd only suggest running it when you're about to play a game, and reboot when you're going to use the PS3 for things other than gaming).

Waninkoko's firmware is buggy and plays with the size of lv2, which is extremely dangerous. You'll want to go kmeaw's if anything. You can try just going to OFW > kmeaw, but if you get errors, you might want to try kmeaw > OFW > Wutang > Geo > kmeaw

@kamelKase: You're probably right, but I've found it to fix some issues with other users that couldn't load backups by going from Wanin > OFW > kmeaw. They fixed it by going kmeaw > OFW > Wutang > Geo > kmeaw
