    Hi everyone!

I am sorry that I am going on and asking away but this is by far the best website to actually get help from.

I have a 20GB BC PS3 3.55 (I bought a 500GB HDD but haven't installed it in the PS3 yet). My question is this however, I put my Sims 3 in my External Hard disk in this format: H: (Hard Disk)/Sims 3 (Folder Name)/ PS3_Game, PS3_Update, and PS3_Disc.SFB within that folder.

Everytime I load Mulitman, it will load it and I see the game advertisement screen in XMB and when I chose it, it loads me to the intro part of the screen and just a black screen with the green plumby thingy just spins around. And that's it! There has to be more to it that that! Please tell me if I am missing something. As you know from the numerous threads I have posted and will most probably keep posting, I am a newbie and this is all new to me.

Thanks everyone. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

    which version do you have?

the game should actually be placed in a games/z folder at the root of your external but as you can see the game in multiman then you must have changed something but can confirm that the BLES01016 version works fine from the external without any additional settings via multiman on kmeaw 3.55

if you have a different version and its black screening as you say have you tried to turn bd mirror on in multiman for that game?

before you ask.... highlight the game and press square then select bd mirror and load the game as normal

Hey! Thanks for responding. Sorry for not answering back. Work has been crazy! But I did put my sims game in my games folder. I dont understand why its not working. The same goes for Siren and Heavy Rain. They both show up in my "last played disc" or something like that. Their icon animates the game, but in Heavy Rain, I get the loading screen and it gets stuck. For Siren, i just get a black screen. For Sims, I just get the green plumbob thingy that the sims have over their heads in the game and it just keeps spinning and thats it! I am going crazy!

As for my sims, I dont really understand the whole BLES01016. Wasn't sure about how to check to be honest. I dont even see that anywhere in the sims folder. I cant believe I dont get to play one single game on the ps3 except for Monopoly lmao

Ok, first off I'm going to be honest here and make this a very quick reply as ac:revelations has been fixed for 3.55 and I've been wanting to play that for aaaaaaggggggeeeeesssss, lol

anyway, nice one for the detailed reply - makes it a lot easier to help out and try to figure whats wrong.

The game id (BLES, BLUS etc) is a way of identifying the region of your game - the game folders used to be named as such but not sure if they need to be or not anymore as in....

    F:/GAMEZ/BLES01016 (Sims 3)/PS3_GAME/USRDIR etc...

anyway, if you go into your game folder and find the param.sfo you can open that (notepad will do fine) and it'll say in there...
    BLES - Euro
    BLUS - USA
    BLJS - Japan
    etc

it should show on the screen somewhere in your game manager too
you can also find it on the spine of the original case for the game

this list is always a good one to keep bookmarked...
    3.55 Backup Compatibility List

not sure why sims or siren wont work as I've never had problems with them although the sims used to take ages to load some screens (doubt its as simple as that in this case)
but I do know that originally heavy rain had to be copied to internal to install the game data and then it could be copied back to the external to play (you'd have to copy it back to the internal if you ever deleted the game data install though)

Are you on 3.55 kmeaw or rebug or even 3.41 and have you tried any other managers?
I'm guessing you installed the bd mirror pkg thing for multiman too and have the bd-rom emulator set to hermes in multiman (on the options bit right at the very bottom in the xmmb view)?
to be honest I always try to sway people towards multiman as I've never had issues with that where I have had with other managers but some people have different preferences
    :0.

erm, there's a few other things like are they direct rips or have you tried to modify any of the files etc but we'll go over those once you've checked through the few things above and also once I've had my assassins creed fix, lol

I see. Well my sims files did come with something like that but perhaps I just got rid of the folder name to actually know which game is in which folder. Oops. lol. So I just put the BLES (for example) folder in my games folder and it should work right? Unless I am to change something if the person tells me to right?

By the way, I keep forgetting to thank you for taking the time to help me. You have no idea how helpful you are to this newbie

as I said, I'm not sure if you have to keep the format but I have my folders named as 'GAMEID [GAME]' and that works fine 'BLESXXXXX - [GAME NAME]' also seems to be how multiman saves them anyway if they're ripped from disc

but yeah, dumping those folders into your games folder should just allow them to work - I've only ever had an issue with one game and that was down to a bad rip rather than the actual game itself

    :0.

if you need the original eboot for your sims game then I've obviously got mine (think I have the euro version) in case you've modified it for any reason but beyond that I'm thinking maybe a bad rip???

did you get anywhere with heavy rain in the end transferring it to the internal to install the game data first?

and no worries, we've all been there before and I generally try to help some people out around here when I can but can get annoyed if someone is a complete moron and asks really stupid questions, as you may notice from some of my other posts, lol
nothing wrong with needing a bit of advice every once in a while though
