So are you going to just swap with your brother, and that way he can upgrade to 4.11 and then you guys can even transfer content from his old one to yours.
Right, I would just be swapping PS3's with my brother. Although the stuff that has to be transferred back to the system can easily be downloaded again off the PSN, but I am strictly looking to downgrade to play backups only, no online. I'm looking for the easiest possible method of doing it, if it can be done without soddering or opening the system, than great. If it does require either though I will look around for an experienced person to do so. I also was looking into downgrader solutions and was looking at Cobra USB and at the features list it says Downgrader functionality included free of charge, allowing users to upgrade firmware to and from 3.41 at will. So, what does that mean?
A downgrade device basically puts your PS3 into Factory Service Mode, which from there, you can use tools and files to downgrade your device. I am not sure what the best solution for you is going to be, as I do not have much experience with these hardware flashers.
