Need help, Just checked Base Firmware and got these results
Thank You for being so fast to reply and help out. I appreciate it
Another question I want to ask real quick. Since I am looking to downgrade soon, and don't know of which downgrader to buy just yet, is it possible to downgrade without a hardware piece or dongle? I'm looking at the FSM PKG App that's on the Downgrading thread page.
with the console on 2.70 you can install custom firmware and use it to play HD-MKV's and various formats, run emulators and homebrew, run you games from the internal hdd or run a external (way faster) for any title made up till about a year ago (anything for 3.55 and under... there is some patches for newer games, but not many) if you want newer games, you can get a true blue or one of the cheaper clone dongles
if your installing custom firmware use rebug 3.55.2 then update it to 3.55.6 (easy to grab from there website, google it)
as for the other system, eather downgrade and do the same... or use it on PSN and for newer titles.
downgrading is not for beginner users.
So what would I need to downgrade either system? E3 Flasher, ProgSkeet, Etc? Whatever method is easiest would be great.
Well first off, I am assuming the PS3 is on OFW 4.11. If this is not correct, please let me know.
I think the E3 Flasher is better for beginners.
Also, you will need a Downgrade device, like the teensy, or one of the many many clones out there (if you can still find them) like PS3Break, E3 (not E3 Flasher), USB Jailbreak, Cobra USB (pretty sure that still does downgrades), etc, etc.
My PS3 is on OFW 4.10..the one that can be downgraded to 3.66. My brother's PS3 is on OFW 4.11 and his is the one that can be downgraded to 2.70.
