Need Help with GeoHotz 3.55 (External HDD)

Hello I'm wondering if I could use my External Hard Drive and just plug it in with the /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP file in there and jailbreak it?

Or do I need a USB Stick for it... :(

Sorry I just haven't been able to find a response on this and I'm wondering if it'd work. (Don't have a USB Stick :()

you can use a nano or a phone too:) i used my BlackBerry :)

As long as the Playstation can detect it as FAT32 you shoulf be fine.
